French - La Marseillaise - pretty much the same
Jamaica - Land We Love - Practically a hymn
God Save the Queen - Absolutely nowhere, get rid and replace with either Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and my favourite - I Vow to Thee My Country

God save the Queen is just English words on an old German song. Germany and Prussia used it previously. And Liechtenstein still do.
I remember Scotland playing Liechtenstein and the jocks booing it because they thought it was being played for them.

Jerusalem is probably the best song ever written in Britain but it’s specifically about England. It should probably be the ENGLISH national anthem.

God save the Queen is crap. Why is it about some air fairy saving a person?
Why is it played before England games? It's so fucking dull.
Agree with many that the French, German, Taffs, Jocks, Italian, Yanks and even the old Soviet ones are so much better.

The problem with making Land of Hope and Glory the national anthem is that I would forever imagine it sung in an exaggerated Indian accent and after "mother of the three..." I'd 'hear' "SHUUUUT UUUP!!" and a noodly bit of sitar.

As a young man, I was extremely disappointed when I realized that the theme tune to The Mysterious Cities of Gold cartoon was not in actual fact the Mexican national anthem...
